Chanticleer Inn [Multnomah Co., near Crown Point]: Built in 1912, this famous Columbia River landmark was owned by Mrs. Marie Morgan. At first it was necessary to use the railroad and detrain at Rooster Rock, in order to enjoy the wonderful meals it became so noted for. After the opening of the Columbia River Highway in 1915, the inn became easily approachable for hungry afternoon motorists. It burned October 08, 1930. Postcard image was taken about 1917.
