The following bits of information are from the Idaho Statesman, dated Nov. 01, 1891. This clipping was found years ago stuffed away in the attic of a very old Idaho home. When the "finder" recognized her school pals family name, she promptly forwarded the article on. Sadly it's not a whole lot, but one never knows where that little piece of information might lay, that is so desperately needed by another. So with that in mind, here goes.

Timber Culture, Final Proof.

United States Land Office - Boise City, Idaho, October 23, 1891. Notice is hereby given what George W. Smith has filed notice of intention to make final proof before the register and receiver at his office in Boise City, Idaho, on Tuesday the 14th day of December, 1891, on timber culture application No. 583, for the w1/2 sw1/4 of section No. 26, in township No. 10 north, range 1 east.

He names as witnesses: Benjamin F. Shepard, Carrol Baird, Ira Smith, George W. Perron, all of Ola, Boise County, Idaho.

Land Office at Boise City, Idaho, Oct. 16, 1891. - Notice is hereby given that the following named settler has filed notice of his intention to make final proof in support of his claim, and that said proof will be made before the Register and Receiver at Boise City, Idaho, on November 23, 1891, viz: John Shawver, of Boise City, Idaho, who made Homestead Application No. 1946, for the nw 1/4, sec 33, tp 4 n.r1e.
